HEAVEN'S SECRET REQUIEM: Dance
While working on the book one night, Anna sneaks into Lane's room with a wholesome discovery.
Mentions of suggestive dancing!
This has no connection to the story.
Enjoy!
~~~
Lane rubbed her eyes as she scanned each line of text and image, the Book of The Apocalypse lit up under the dim light of the desk lamp. She had no idea what time it was or how long she'd been studying, but piece by piece, things were beginning to make sense.
As she flipped her long hair over her shoulder and sipped a mug of tea, a courtesy of Anhea, she heard a soft knock on her bedroom door.
"Come in!" she didn't bother to look. The squad visited her numerous times when they dropped things off for her or picked her up for missions, so she knew it must have been one of them. The door creaked open, making Lane turn to see the familiar face of her good friend.
Anna, the younger sister of Dmitry, scurried inside with what appeared to be a bundle underneath several blankets. What the heck? Pushing her chair back, Lane noticed the young scientist was also in her pajamas, her hair tied back and glasses hanging off the bridge of her nose.
"Hey," Anna smiled. "You busy?"
"Yes," Lane's lips thinned in a line. "What are you doing here?"
"It's a surprise," Anna set the bundle on the floor and started rummaging around.
"What?" Lane asked as she walked up to her.
"Do you remember that supermarket, the one we stopped at before we got on the train to Rotkov?"
Lane nodded as Anna pulled the last blanket back.
"I didn't tell anyone, but I found something there. I've kept it in my room for so long, I didn't have the time to show you until now."
Lane frowned. "Does Dmitry know?"
Anna flinched, giggling nervously. "Nope."
"Anna!"
"Trust me, Lane," Anna just kept smiling. "Nothing gets better than this."
Before the cryptographer could ask further, Anna yanked out the item from the bundle, holding it out proudly before them. Blinking in confusion, Lane noticed it was a simple red radio.
"A...radio?"
Anna nodded. "Yes, ma'am."
"And why do you have one?"
Rolling her eyes, Dmitry's sister walked over to the desk, scooting the Book aside and playing with the knobs and buttons.
"Because it's cool," she stated. "I also found a bunch of CDs with it, and I brought a few of them to see if they work."
Lane hovered over her as she pressed the buttons, popping the CD player open and laying the albums out in the table. Lane picked one up, flipping over and reading its tracklist.
"Michael Jackson Essentials and Best Hits."
"Let me see that," Anna grabbed it, her eyes widening. "Oh wow, it's been so long since I've heard a song from him."
"You think it works?" now the cryptographer couldn't hide her curiosity.
"Only one way to find out."
Opening the album, Anna popped the CD in and closed the lid, pressing the Play button. The disk scratched and creaked inside the radio until a faint beat started playing from the speakers.
"Hmmm..." Anna frowned, biting her lip and pressing the skip button twice. Turning up the volume, the sound became clear. Suddenly, the once popular music icon's voice floated through the room.
"Do you remember..."
Lane couldn't help but grin as Anna laughed, clapping her hands together as she hopped up out of the chair.
"It works," she proclaimed. "Oh man, now we have music!"
"What do you mean?"
"Now we don't have to work in silence anymore," Anna grinned. "If we want to take a break, we can just pop in a CD and listen to music."
"Hmm..." Lane listened to the song. "It is nice to hear something different."
"And," Anna wasn't finished. "We could even let loose and dance."
Lane scoffed. "Excuse me?"
"Aw, c'mon Lane," Anna egged her on. "Haven't you ever been to a college party during your studies?"
Lane grimaced. "Never."
"What?" Anna's jaw dropped. "You're kidding me."
Shaking her head, the girl clicked her tongue and took Lane by the hand, guiding her to the middle of the floor. Her hands rested on her waist, a mischevious smile spreading across her face.
"Anna," Lane frowned. "I have to work."
"The book can wait," Dmitry's sister insisted. "Right now, just let go and enjoy the music."
She twirled the cryptographer around, swaying to the beat of the song. Rocking her hips side-to-side, Anna flipped her hair over her shoulder, backing away and turning her back on Lane, shaking her hips with her arms over her head.
Rolling her eyes, Lane crossed her arms, failing to hide a growing smile as Anna sauntered over and placed her hands on her shoulders.
"Pretend we're two friends in a club," she explained. "Dancing the night away."
Lane thought for a moment before rocking on the soles of her feet, intimidating Anna's movements of her hips, albeit a bit more stiff and robotic.
"A little more sway," Anna reminded her, showing her how to rock her hips. "Like this. Don't be scared, it's just us."
Lane copied her movements, her bare feet curling under the carpet they danced on. Anna smiled as she stepped back, giving her room to get into the rhythm. Gradually, Lane settled into a comfortable rhythm and found herself enjoying it.
"I thought she had to have it since the first time she came..."
Lane took her hand and spun her around, Anna doing the same thing.
"I can't let her get away..."
Like Faith and Buffy from The Vampire Slayer, Lane ran her hands through her hair, the skirt of her nightgown twirling with her. Anna jumped around, rocking her hips and jutting her chest out. The girls were so lost in their own world, they almost didn't see another figure enter the room.
"There you go," Anna gigged. "Go, Lane!"
"What's going on?" A voice broke through their dancing. The girls stopped, noticing Greg in the room. He was watching them curiously, his eyes narrowed.
"Just taking a break," Lane answered. "Anna found a radio from that abandoned supermarket."
"You wanna join us?" she asked, adjusting the glasses on her nose. "There's more than enough room."
Greg smiled as he walked inside, checking out the radio as he heard the sound of Michael Jackson spreading through the room.
"Only if I can pick the next song."
Lane and Anna looked at one another, nodding as Greg tinkered with the radio. As he skipped the next song, stopping when a slower song started playing.
"My life will never be the same..."
"Ready to rock my world?" Greg chuckled. Giggling, Anna motioned him over as he started to dance. Lane had no objections and started to sway her hips, gyrating around to the song.
Anna danced in Greg's arms, letting him press her back against his hard chest. He wrapped his arms around her waist, resting them across her stomach at a respectable placement so he wasn't crossing boundaries.
Lane had forgotten what it was like when the world was once normal. Now, even if for just a moment, she could breathe a little and enjoy time with her friends, friends she never had when she lived with her parents or with her ex-boyfriend.
Greg switched from Anna to the cryptographer, holding out his hand. "May I have this dance?"
Nodding, Lane smirked. "Just this once."
He raised his arms over his head and rocked his hips against hers, letting her hands trail down his abs. Just like Anna, he didn't cross boundaries, letting Lane take what she was comfortable with. She turned around, rocking back and forth with him.
"Whoa," Greg whistled. "Go, Lane."
"Right?" Anna nodded. "Girl's got moves."
"Imagine if the General saw her," Greg laughed.
"He'd get a show just like you are right now," Lane announced. "He doesn't scare me."
"What would you do?" Anna asked, stepping back with Greg. Lane thought for a moment before grinning.
"I'd drop like this."
Dropping to the floor on her knees, Lane spread them wide and ran her hand through her hair.
"Then this..." she crawled across the floor like a panther. "And this."
Rising slowly, she arched her back and pulled the skirt of her nightgown up slightly, spinning on her feet and gyrating her hips, tracing a path from her stomach across her shoulder.
"Then..." she sauntered to Greg, resting a hand against his chest. "I'd let him lead me across the floor..."
She walked toward Anna. "And grind on him like this."
Both girls danced together, the beat slow and steady with the rhythm of the music.
"Lane," Anna chuckled. "That's my brother you're talking about."
"So?" the cryptographer shrugged. "He's a man, I'm a woman."
"Greg's a man, too."
"He can't handle me like the General can."
Anna laughed as Lane sauntered back to the floor.
"Do it again!" Greg cheered Lane on. Lane obliged, repeating the process and spinning on her heels toward him. Greg caught her in his arms, holding her against his waist.
"Keep it in the closet..."
"Don't let Dmitry hear you," Greg warned her.
"Why?" Lane smirked.
"You'd be in big trouble," Anna agreed.
"Please," Lane scoffed. "I'd give him a lapdance to make it up for being naughty."
Greg and Anna burst out laughing as the song ended, Lane giving a bow. Clapping, Anna turned off the radio and smiled wide.
"Wow, what a night," she declared. "That actually tired me out."
"Thanks for the dance, ladies," Greg grinned. "It's been fun."
"Do you mind if I keep the radio, Anna?" asked Lane. "I'd like the CDs, too."
"Help yourself, Lane. Goodnight, everyone."
After saying goodbye, Lane closed the door and looked around the empty room. The radio still sat on the desk. Tilting her head, Lane turned it back on, lowering the volume and skipping to another song.
"Dirty Diana..."
Smiling, Lane took the radio over to her bed, setting it on her pillow and laying down.
Now I really want to give the General that lapdance. Stop it, Lane! You can't think like this. Oh well, maybe you can.
The thought made her chuckle as she skipped to the next song, fidgeting with the volume knob. A slower song started to play, one that made her fall asleep.
"You are not alone..."
Confession:
1) "The new HSR Cg where every LI is there except Anna......the worse part is that they even added Boris who's not even a LI but not Anna and then people say why the author gets so much hate. I romance Anna and was so disappointed with the whole thing. This is not fair, it's 2024, we deserve representation too or are we asking for too much here?"
2) "the male harem scene in hsr completely destroyed any respect i had for sasha as a romance author random horny dream sequence in otherwise serious story (intense tone shift) no anna (homophobic /hj) ai cg (not sashas fault i just hate it)"
Tumblr media
Confession:
3) "I legit thought I had been kicked off of Anna’s route this update. At least Alice tried with Mimi. The bar was in hell and Sasha still managed to play limbo with the devil."
4) "Nah. Anna treatment was the true homophobia naaaah. The Dead Guy and a guy we meet 2 episodes ago got more action then a woman who has been here since day 1 like 💀. The author ain't even pretending she wants to cook (worse then Remy and Alice). She cooked a whole ass scene for the men lovers all at the same time. Worst part ? I am midly shocked but not surprised. I knew it was going to happen but it being this blatant is wild."
